Taking time to reflect and learn

Learning and growth is a constant when you are building a business, especially when you are really creating an industry at the same time! So I thought it worth while to share some of my reflections from the past 12 months or so.

Highlights

  • Without a doubt, meeting so many brilliant, energetic, and generous people has been an unexpected highlight. I've been blown away by the warmth and engagement of people, many of whom I didn't know 18 months ago!

  • Witnessing the appetite for ways to design work better. That 'aha' momentwhen people see that there is a strategy to unlock performance and address burnout. I love that moment, and seeing people's minds ticking with the new realisation and possiblities it opens up!

  • Structuring my knowledge and experience into a keynote and workshop which challenges leaders to rethink productivity from the bottom up. As those who know me know, I love being on a stage! What I didn't expect is how much I love being able to move a room to think differently about what is possible.

Learnings

  • It doesn't have to be a shorter work week. I realised that the magic is in helping create time and space at work and gain control of the chaos and busy... it doesn't matter whether the time created is used for focus time, innovation, team building and fun, or indeed time off. It is creating the time that is the life changing part.

  • Sometimes it makes sense to start with leadership capability, to invest in the ability to drive change before tackling a significant culture change program. I've loved working with growth-minded leaders who want to learn, and genuinely get such a buzz from helping them unleash outstanding team performance in their people.

  • Context and delivery mechanism differs from client to client, but the content we cover and end goal remains the same - how to create time and space in the work week

Unlock the human potential in your business

Productivity Tip of the Day

  • Create a culture of continuous improvement, for yourself and for your team.

  • Each week reflect and answer three questions: What have I learned? What should I change? What help do I need?
